Show Scout Briefs Under the leadership of Mrs. Myrna Jones, the chairman of the South District for the Girl Scouts, the adult leaders of the district entertained the women of the Women's Wo-men's Ward of the Veterans Hospital Hos-pital on Monday, December 2nd. They played games, sang Christmas Christ-mas carols and served light refreshments re-freshments to those unfortunate women in the hospital. There were ten ladies who gave so generously gen-erously of their time and talents :o shed a little light in an otherwise other-wise dreary world for the shut-ins. As a preliminary kick-off to their annual Cookie Sale in the spring, the Salt Lake Council of Giri Scouts will hold a luncheon at the Hotel Utah on Dec. 12, at which time a representative of the Burry Cookie Company from Chicago will meet with the chairmen of each neighborhood to start planning for the cookie sale. The following day the finance committee of the Salt Lake Council will meet with the representative anc complete the plans. , Troop 147 of the Brownies enjoyed enjoy-ed a skating party on the afternoon after-noon of December 5 at the Nor mandy Skating Rink. Ten little Brownies and their friends, chaperoned cha-peroned by Mrs. Myrna Jones, Mrs. Mary Newman and Mrs. Mer-ci Mer-ci Taylor, had a very merry time. The Cub Scout pack 233, was awarded the outstanding cub pack of the Twin Peaks district at the Gather-all, Saturday, Nov. 23. The awards meeting took place at Har-man's Har-man's Cafe on North Temple. The award represents a year's work, and is a tribute to the leaders lead-ers as well as the youngsters for their work in helping them to accomplish ac-complish the projects and work during the year. The chairman of the pack was Ralph Hochhalter, with the new " jchairman being Robert L. Spring-meyer. Spring-meyer. The former cubmaster was Bill Weber, Kent Raleigh being be-ing the new cubmaster. |
