Store is owned and operated by Sam Weller. Book Store Opens In Sugar House Business Center Uheralded and without fanfare, a branch of Zion's Book Store was opened in Sugar House recently. re-cently. It is located' at 1056 East 7- 2100 SouthSt. Mrs. Ira Hinckley (Wave, to her friends) is manager of the shop with John Schow-as her assistant, t : and Jean Air as a part-time clerk. Most of the $15,000 stock is new ; books, but there will be some used reference works, said Mrs. Hinck-; Hinck-; ley. Used books of all kinds may be had on order, she added. i Mr. Hinckley comes to Sugar House with a background of some , 18 years bookstore experience in Utah and Idaho. She left an ex-; ex-; cellent position with a Salt Lake i bookstore to come to Sugar House because, "I felt that I could, be of real service to the people who live in the southeast part of the city." Apparently Zion's is the only ? complete bookstore in the Sugar ; House area. A southeast resident herself, Mrs. Hinckley lives at 2405 Evergreen Ever-green Avenue. : Mr. Schow lives at 145 South 300 East. He is experiencing for the first time the friendliness of Sugar Su-gar House residents and business people. "For the first couple of days," he said, "few people knew we were here, but now lots of people peo-ple drop in to introduce themselves and welcome us to Sugar House." He "is in charge of the literature and modern library department. He is currently planning a compilation compi-lation of his . own poetry. :Mr. Schow -comes from a poetic family. fam-ily. His mother, Eleanor Schow, and his sister, Iris Schow, are well-known to readers of the Relief Re-lief Society Magazine and other publications. Mrs. Hinckley also has a writing writ-ing background, although he sticks more to advertising copy at the present. Enthusiastic Jean Air is a stud ent at the University of Utah.
