Show Registration At 'IT Starts Sept. 21 Having undergone a slight face-lifting during spring and summer months, the University of Utah will welcome an expected expect-ed 7500 students during Autumn quarter registration beginning Sept. 21. ' Beginning freshmen will sign up on that date. All other students stu-dents will register on Sept. 22 and 23 for classes which will begin Sept. 25. The expected 7500 or more students will find two new dormitories, dorm-itories, a revamped Park build ing, a new band practice field, and immediate prospects for a new $2,000,000 union building1, a $500,000 classroom building, art and medical centers. It is hoped by university officials of-ficials that the men's new dormitory, dorm-itory, formerly the Fort Douglas Doug-las station hospital, with its accommodations for almost 300 men, and another housing unit to be used as an athletic dormitory, dorm-itory, will help to alleviate the campus housing problem. The Park building will be further beautified by a remodeling remodel-ing of the entire rear section to accommodate a new art gallery gal-lery on the fourth floor. The $185,000 project, to be complet-,ed complet-,ed early in October, also will provide a new face for the main staircases in the center of the building. Union building construction is expected to begin by spring-quarter, spring-quarter, and the medical center, which already is under way with construction of a cancer research wing, will be near completion by the end of the year. The classroom structure still is in the planning stage and no date has been set for construction to begin. |
