Show I Mrs. Cal Wilkins Greets Friends At Candlelight Tea Amidst a setting of late summer sum-mer flowers and glowing candles, can-dles, Mrs. Calvin R. Wilkins greeted friends at a candlelight tea given in her honor, Friday-evening, Friday-evening, September 15. Scene of the elaborate affair was the home of the bridegroom's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkins. Wil-kins. The new Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins were wed September 5 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. The attractive brunette bride greeted her guests attired in her wedding gown of ivory slipper satin, accented with a dainty scalloped neckline and scalloped sleeves. The trim waistline 'ended 'en-ded in a gently flaring skirt and train. Her finger-tip veil of sheerest illusion was held in place by a Juliet cap trimmed with seed pearls. A single strand of pearls completed her ensemble. ensem-ble. Assisting Mrs. Wilkins in receiving re-ceiving her guests were her mother, Mrs. Ross Peterson, the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Paul Wilkins, his grandmother, IVJrs. Etta Odekirk, and Mrs. Lester Mullins. The tea table, covered with a beautiful lace cloth, was centered center-ed with a striking arrangement of pastel colored gladioli and roses, Lighted pink tapers in crystal holders provided illumination; illum-ination; while assorted bouquets of late summer flowers added a further touch of loveliness to the rooms. Pouring during the evening were Mrs. Clyde Johnson and Mrs. Farrell Wilkins, Mrs. Paul Murphy and Mrs. Norman Murphy. Mur-phy. Mrs. Elroy Wilkins and Miss Lila Lee Odekirk had charge of the gift room, and Mrs. Vean Bair supervised the dining room. Mrs. Max Wilkins, Miss Bonnie White, Miss Maurine Gilbert and Miss Peggy Oldroyd assisted assist-ed with the serving. Mrs. Herbert Her-bert Barlow and Mrs. Marrell Wilkins were in charge of refreshments. re-freshments. Music during the evening consisted con-sisted of songs by Beverly White, Jack Bacon, Renee La-brum, La-brum, and Mrs. Dewey Jessen; piano selections by Betty Jo Sprouse and Larry Wilson. |
