Show Flood Relief Aid Sought In Cities & Counties The Utah Flood Relief Committee" Com-mittee" was established to cooperate co-operate with and supplement existing ex-isting agencies in providing funds for the relief of flood victims. vic-tims. The committee and its staff are composed entirely of volunteers and any and all funds it receives will be allocated allo-cated for flood relief. In commenting on the flood relief problem Governor J. Bracken said, "1 cannot praise too highly the work that has thus far been done by the L D S Church, the Red Cross, and by other groups and individuals who ., have devoted themselves untiringly and unselfishly in meeting the flood problem. It is our hope that this committee may be of substantial aid in assisting as-sisting these groups in furthering- their work. "This is truly a state-wide appeal to aid those of our citizens citi-zens who are in need because of the flood damage. As governor, gov-ernor, I am calling upon all public officials, particularly the mayors of our cities, the presidents presi-dents of our town boards, and the chairmen of our county commissions com-missions to assist in this drive." A letter received by Mayor J. V. McLea from Governor J. Bracken Lee, solicits the aid of individuals in Duchesne County and the Uintah Basin for flood victims and property. The . mayor endorses the program pro-gram and invites any contributions contribu-tions to be left with him for the Roosevelt area, and he will see that the bontributions are turned turn-ed over to the governor's committee. |
