Show LEAH MAE PICKUP SETS WEDDING DATE RANDLETT Mrs. Ada Pickup, Pick-up, of Randlett, announces the forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Leah Mae, to William Thomas (Tommy) Chandler, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Chandler, Chand-ler, of Randlett. Wednesday, December 6, is the date set for the wedding, which will take place in the Salt Lake LDS temple. On the following Saturday, December 9, a reception and dance will honor the newlyweds at the Randlett LDS ward hall. LEGION AUXILIARY -The American Legion Auxiliary, Auxil-iary, Unit No. 64, met Tuesday evening at the American Legion hall, with Mrs. Ken Aycock, vice-president, presiding. The twelve members present discussed dis-cussed plans for the annual Christmas party, which is held jointly with the Legion. TUESDAY BRIDGE Varicolored miniature plastic sugar-plum trees served as favors fav-ors and placecards for the twenty twen-ty members and guests entertained enter-tained Tuesday evening at the Frontier Grill by Mrs. Vean Bair. Comprising the extra guest list were Mrs. Marvel Nielson, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, Mrs. Cliff Fretwell and Mrs. Cliff Mem-mott. Mem-mott. Prizes for the evening went to Mrs. Wayne Malin, Mrs. Ray Jordan, Mrs. Paul Wilkins. Mrs. Eldredge, Mrs. Fretwell, Mrs. Bob Huish and Mrs. Memmott. Hostess Tuesday of last week to her bridge club members and guests was Mrs. Wayne Malin, who entertained at a delicious luncheon in compliment to four tables of guests. Club guests included in-cluded Mrs. Cliff Fretwell. Mrs. Fletcher Learning and Mrs. Cliff Memmott. ROY BENSONS HONORED Mr. and Mrs. Roy Benson were honored at a family reunion re-union and farewell party on Thanksgiving day, when approximately ap-proximately forty relatives convened con-vened at the American Legion hall for dinner. Main purpose for the occasion was a farewell fete for the Ben-sons, Ben-sons, who are leaving next week-end to make their home in Provo. They have been residents res-idents of Roosevelt since 1926. Their daughter, JeNee, is attending attend-ing the B.Y.U. Arrangements for the event were made by Melvin Benson and his daughters. Gordon Benson, Ben-son, son of the Roy Bensons, will remain in Roosevelt. FIRESIDE CHAT Following church services Sunday evening of the Roosevelt LDS ward, a Fireside Chat was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Todd. Guest speaker was Bishop Carl Van-Tassell, Van-Tassell, who talked on his experiences ex-periences In the mission field. Pie alamode was served to the following, who were present: Donna and Carol Todd, Shirley Mower, Edith Hardinger. Joyce McKenna, Darlene Brown, Janice Jan-ice Anderton, Melba Benson, Irene Blanchard, Frank Mower, Bishop and Mrs. Carl VanTas-sell, VanTas-sell, David Wilson, JoAnn Nelson, Nel-son, Vernon Buchanan, Dr. Vere Johnson and June Fenn. D.U.P. MEET The regular meeting of the Roosevelt camp. Daughters of Utah Pioneers, was held Nov. 24 at the home of Mrs. Clara Timothy, with Capt. Lila Nickell in charge. An historical sketch of the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving Thanks-giving was beautifully given by Mrs. E. P. Thomas. The lesson on "Early Pioneer Mail Routes, Carriers, and Contractors," was given by Mrs. Cecila Gilbert. A delicious luncheon, carrying out the Thanksgiving theme, was served by hostesses, Lila Nickell, Helen Howell and Clara Cla-ra Timothy. Those enjoying the festivities besides the hostesses were Fanny Fan-ny Goodrich. Mary Orser, Mrs Tom Taylor, Alta Phillips, Pearl-etta Pearl-etta Workman, Eliza Gilbert Ora " Holgate, Cecila Gilbert, Sarah Johnson, Olive Harrison, Lelia Harsh, Mable Allen, Mildred Mil-dred Smith, Pearl Redmond, Romola Walker, Geneva Gilbert, and guests, 'Grandma' Holgate, of Arcadia, Mrs. Ray Walker, of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. E. P. Thomas. Mrs. Geneva Whiting of Neola assisted the hostesses. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Nine members of the Neighborhood Neigh-borhood Sewing club enjoyed a sociable evening last Wednesday Wednes-day with their hostess, Mrs. Robert Hall. To climax the get-together, get-together, a delicious dessert luncheon was served. |
