Show Basketball Season Opens Friday Night The Duchesne high school Eagles and the Rough Riders from Roosevelt open the 1950-51 basketball season this week when they meet the North Emery Em-ery Rangers from Huntington on successive nights. The Eagles Ea-gles meet the Rangers tonight (Thursday), at Duchesne and tomorrow to-morrow night, Friday, the Emery Em-ery lads meet Coach Marcus Garrett's Rough Riders at the elementary school gym. Both games are at 8 p. m. Saturday night, Greenriver, another Emery county team, comes to the Basin where they will test the Eagles at Duchesne in the second pre-season contest for the county seat youngsters. One more home game is on tap for Duchesne high school followers follow-ers of the waxed floor sport when the always potent Monti- cello high school team will meet the Eagles on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the high school gym. The next game for the Rough Riders is set for Dec. 15 when the Moroni high school team, winner in the San Pete league last year comes to Roosevelt for an 8 o'clock game. The following fol-lowing night they meet North San Pete at the Uintah high gym in Vernal. Tickets Ai Door According to Principal Jensen, Jen-sen, all general admission and reserve seats for practice games will be sold at the door, witn no advance sale being- planned. However, a meeting will be held in the near future to decide de-cide how best to dispense tickets for the regular league games that will begin on Jan. 5, 1951. : Proper announcement will be made regarding the tickets. |
