Show School Notes Mrs. Opal Gomm, art teacher, announced the following students as winners in the oil painting: Dale Hanberg, first placi, and ho will receive thirty dollars. His oil painting will remain in the school art collection. Receiving recognition recogni-tion for 2nd place was Don Fowler, Fow-ler, and 3rd place, Gar Goodrich. Judges of the 52 oil paintings were Mrs. Aleen Case, Mrs. Don Nyberg and Mrs. Verona Goodrich. Other art work on exhibit consisted con-sisted of: metal etchings, papier machie, ciramics, textile, enameling enamel-ing and water coloring on paper and glass. Grant Peel, music instructor announced an-nounced the following students who entered the vocal solo and instrumental ensemble festival in Vernal recently: Shana Lou Winkler Wink-ler rated 1; Eva Swasey, 1; Bonnie Bon-nie Ann Ames, 2; Carolie Max-field, Max-field, 2; and Larry Hansen, 3. These students entered the vocal solo division. David Hislop and Ralph Thack-er Thack-er rated 2 with their trumpets; Phil Lyons, 3, saxophone; Sherry Hartman, Lila Gomm, Doris All-red All-red and Sharon Johansen placed 1, in the clarinet quartet. A NEW PRESIDENT IS CHOSEN FOR 1956 57 1 Pete Nyberg was elected n'ew student body president for next year. Ernest Riley is vice-president and Janice Allred, secretary. UNDERGOES OPERATION Girls' Day didn't turn out so well for Carolyn Killian last Saturday. Sat-urday. She was rushed to the Ver nal Hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Carolyn's parents report she is recovering satisfactorily satisfac-torily and will be able to return home this weekend. Nineteen little playmates gathered gath-ered at the home of Vance Lambert Lam-bert Friday for his 5th birthday Party. Jane Lambert helped with the games. Home movies were shown to the group, wmch included in-cluded "Cartoons" and "Cowboy films. NEW PRIMARY PRESIDENT CHOSEN Norma Hansen was sustained as the new Mt. Emmons Ward Primary Pri-mary President. Rhea Lambert and Fern Powell will serve as 1st and 2nd counselors. Vesta Wall will serve as secretary.
