Show District Camporee For Local Scouts Set For Weekend Boy Scouts and Explorers of the Roosevelt Scout District will hold their 1956 District Camporee this Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12 at Big Park in Uinta Canyon, Can-yon, states Loren Alexander, Camping and Activities chairman. Units will check-in from 5:30 p.m. on, then set up camp and cook supper. At 8 p.m. a comp-fire comp-fire program will feature story telling and singing. Following the campfire program the group will take a one hour night hike. Saturday, May 12, camp inspection inspec-tion will be held at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast being completed prior to that time. From 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. scoutcraft contests in signal-tower signal-tower building, monkey bridge building,, signaling, first aid relay, bread making, tent pitching, and fire making will be staged. Camp will end at 11:30 a.m. with the presentation of Camporee ribbons and Camporee patches. In order to defray cost of the Camporee Cam-poree patch, a 250 registration fee will be charged each camper. Last year the Camporee was held at the Roosevelt Rodeo grounds, and in spite of the cold weather and threats of rain, 66 Scouts and leaders attended.
