Show Boost Of $104,099 For Utah Indians Reported A boost of $104,000 has been made in federal appropriations for Indian activities in Utah during the fiscal year 1956. Appropriations total' $2,916,273, compared with $2,812,460 for fiscal fis-cal yead 1955. Educational services at the In-termountain In-termountain School at Brigham City accounts for $2,378,215 of the total for fiscal year 1956. Other Oth-er items include welfare and guidance guid-ance services, $17,155; forest and range land management, $16,436; agriculture and industrial assistance, assist-ance, $11,160; soil and moisture conservation, $71,900; operation, repair and maintenance of Indian irrigation systems, $43,260; repair and maintenance of buildings and utilities, $92,806, and weed -control, $20,000. Also included are $116,000 for road maintenance and construction; construc-tion; $24,249 for general administrative adminis-trative expenses;, $4,945 for maintaining main-taining law and order, and $5,060 for management of Indian trust property. |
