Show Fast Day Sept. 25 Because of stake conference being be-ing held Sept. 18, there will be no Sunday School held at Ballard. Fast Day exercises will be held Sept. 25 instead of the 1st Sunday in October, due to general conference confer-ence at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle and family joined Mr. and Mrs. Max Gardner and family on Labor Day. They all enjoyed a picnic in Uinta Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatch spent Sunday, Sept. 4 at the home of Mrs. Hatch's sister,1 Mrs. Amanda Prince. James Mangum, who is employed employ-ed at Nutter's Ranch, spent the weekend at the home of his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Squire Mangum. Mrs. Seth Asay and small daughter and also her son, Sherman, Sher-man, spent last week in Salt Lake City, helping to care for the children chil-dren of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jensen, who have a new baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Smith and family have moved to Vernal, where Mr. Smith has employment. Bishop and Mrs. Golden Collins, Mrs. Wendel Johnson and Mrs. Ernest Betts made a trip to Salt Lake City on Tuesday. Mrs. Mary Collins, who had been visiting there for some time, returned with them. Mr. and Mrs. Acel Seeley were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Farrel! Rasmussen during last week. The Seeleys are living in Washington now and were former for-mer residents of Ballard. Mrs. Leo Walker, of Lapoint, Mrs. Carl Hall of Bennett and Mrs. George Bracken are employed in the Alterra school kitchen again this year. George Allred of La-point, La-point, a bus driver, assists in the kitchen, also. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Shisler and Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken attended at-tended funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Hancock in Roosevelt Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Sept. 7. Miss Carolvn Ross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. "Tex" Ross, enjoyed the past weekend from Salt Lake City, where she is employed. Lonnie Winn was taken to Salt Lake City last week to receive medical care. On Friday, Mrs. Earl Winn, Mrs. David Lundberg and Mrs. Ernest Knowles of Neola, made a trip to Vernal. Mrs. Sarah Rudge, of Vernal, and Mrs. Lindsay Oakes of Maeser, were callers at the Ernest Betts home on Sunday afternoon to visit vis-it Mrs. Mary Collins. Mrs. Rudge is now bver 90 years old and still very aotive. A group of neighbor ladies served a very nice lunch to approximately ap-proximately sixty, at the home of Mrs. Stella LaRose after the funeral fu-neral services of Mrs. Rex Ashley. |
