The Uintah Basin as a whole is prpud to have been represent, ed by a group of boys Who disr played not only outstanding athletic ability, ibut good sportsmanship sports-manship and character as well. Your accomplishment has awakened new hope in the minds of many young athletes, who otherwise would have accepted ac-cepted defeat without a struggle. Again we say . . . Congratulations Congratula-tions Union Cougars. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Baxter and two sons, Forrest and Cal, are visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Gene Baxter and family. Grant Hansen spent Wednesday Wednes-day of last week in Salt Lake City on business. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Das-trup Das-trup and son, Curtis, were Vernal Ver-nal visitors last Saturday. Mrs. David Gailey entertained the Variety Club Monday night. The evening was spent sewing. Mr. and Mrs. Gomm, Mrs. Eliza Nielson, Madeline Perkins, Mrs. Robert Lunt, Mrs. Rita Hansen and Mrs. Alta Beckstead were among the teac'hers who j were at Tabiona Saturday taking tak-ing the USAC extension course ' in music. Earl Crosby, who has served with the armed forces for the past two years, has returned to , his home in Mt. Emmons. Don Evans, who is attending j school at BYU, came home for the Junior Prom and spent the weekend with his parents, -Mr. and Mrs. Wm. R. Evans. Billie Lisonbee, of Bluebell, spent the weekend with Mrs. A. W. Bird, of Altamont. I Keith-Duke came from BYU 1 to spend the weekend with Mr and Mrs. Bernard Dastrup. He also attended the Junior Prom. , |
