Show Buohesne County Slated To fleceive )$13,171.51 From Forest Service f Duchesne county is slated to receive $13,171.51 from the U. S. Forest Service, representing its per cent of receipts from the Ashley National Forest, Uintah National Forest, and the Wasatch National Forest. This amount will be paid out of a $137,599.-51 $137,599.-51 iund, which amount is Utah's statutory 25 per cent of receipts re-ceipts from the national forests within the state. The announcement announce-ment was made by Gov J Bracken Lee this week after receiving re-ceiving information from Lyle F; Watts, forest service chief in Washington. The current payment is for tnq liscal year ending June 30 1950. Under provisions of the acts of May 23, 1908, and March 1, i 1911, as amended, 25 per cent of the receipts from each' national na-tional forest during any fiscal year are paid to the state in which the forests lie for the benefit of the public schools and public roads of the counties in which the national forests are situated, in the proportion that the national forest area in each county bears to the total area of such national forest. Mr. Watt's letter to the governor gov-ernor also stated that under provisions pro-visions of the act of March 4, 1913, the additional amount of $55,039.80 is available "for the construction and maintenance of roads and trails within the national na-tional forests" of Utah. The total receipts of $11,-178.08 $11,-178.08 from the Ashley National Nation-al Forest are to be distributed to the various counties as follows: fol-lows: Daggett, $2,496.29; Duchesne, Du-chesne, $4,020.08; Suramitt, ,$1,814.65; Uintah, $2,848.06. I Uintah National Forest's receipts re-ceipts of $32,600.75 are to be allocated to five counties as follows: Duchesne, $6,227.60; Juab, $3,058.93; Sanpete, $662.12; Utah, $10,547.32; Wasatch, Was-atch, $12,054.78. |
