Show i I HONORED AT PARTY I The M.I.A. , under the direc-' direc-' tion of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Ben-, Ben-, nion, gave a farewell for Cliff Titcomb, Sunday evening at the ward house. Miss Larraine Dastrup. program pro-gram chairman, arranged the following selections: The high ' school faculty quartet, composed i of Mr. Comm. Mr. Barton, Mr. ; Gailey and Mr. Swallow, sang two numbers, "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms," and "Home On The Range;" Bernice Boswell played a piano solo and Curtis Dastrup ja trombone solo; Mona Miles ' sang "Harbor Lights." These j numbers were accompanied by Mrs. Edythe Hansen at the piano. pi-ano. j After a talk by Bishop Will-ard Will-ard B. Mecham and a reading j by Mrs. Rita Hansen, Veretta Coram and Anna Lee Thacker sang, "Don't Sing Aloha," with a guitar accompaniment by Mrs. j Lois LaRose. Cake and punch were served. I Cliff left Monday for army duty. He is the son of Mrs.. La Veda Titcomb. He also leaves behind his wife, Jimmie. who he married last fall in Louisiana. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Monsan spent the week-end in Provo : with relatives. They drove a new car home. Their little niece, Helen Richman, came back with them for a week's visit. The Monson boys stayed in Bluebell with their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Goodrich, while their parents were away. Mrs. Carl Lister suffered a heart attack Monday. Her doctor doc-tor has ordered a ten-day rest Ray Rogers, employed at the North Salt Lake stockyards, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Rogers. Other members of the family who came for Sunday dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Carrell and children, of ; Upalco, and Mr. and Mrs. Niel 1 Murray and baby son, of Myton. j Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hansen, of Salt Lake City, yisited over the week-end with Mr.'-and Mrs. Waldo Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen. The four men are brothers. Jean Mecham, B.Y.U. student, was home for a week-end visit with her mother, Mrs. Ina Mecham. Me-cham. Mr. and Mrs. Marrell Wilkins, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Crumbo and Mrs. Harry ' Sprouse, of Roosevelt, called on Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stevenson, Sunday visit his son, Raymond, who is still confined to the Veterans hospital. He was inqjured in an accident just before Christmas. The Irmen family has purchased pur-chased a home in Roosevelt and have moved from the house south of the Ballard ward chapel. cha-pel. Mrs. Ernest Betts was a sub stitute cook in the Ballard school kitchen last Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Wilcox and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Sharp, of Cut Bank Wyo., were overnight over-night guests at the home of Mr. , and Mrs. W. T. Swisher Thursday Thurs-day night. The Swishers were former residents of Cut Bank. I Wendell Johnson attended the ' missionary farewell party at iTridell given recently for Kay : Goodrich. I Mr. and Mrs. David Lund-berg Lund-berg are rejoicing over the arrival ar-rival of a baby girl, born at the Roosevelt hospital Moitday, Feb. 5. Ward Bridges, a brother of Mrs. Squire Mangum, left re-' re-' cently for Oklahoma, where he I is employed with an oil company- I Bill Brisbin is working for L. and L. Motor Co., Roosevelt. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bingham Bing-ham and family, of Vernal, visited vis-ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham Saturday. Mrs. Keith Snyder and family, ,of Hunting'ton, were also guests. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson Ander-son spent a week recently visiting vis-iting with friends and relatives in Carbon and Emery counties. John Gardner made a trip to Salt Lake City last week for a check-up on an eye which had been operated on some time ago. His condition was reported very favorable. M-Men and Gleaners of the ward were well represented at the stake M-Men and Gleaner banquet Tuesday evening, Feb. 6. A mixed quartet was furnished furn-ished from our ward. Wm. Wiscombe, brother of Arthur Wiscombe, and one of the first pioneer residents in this vicinity, accompanied Merrill Mer-rill Christopherson, of Provo, here to attend the Father and Sons Boy Scout dinner Wednesday Wednes-day evening, Feb. 7. This was Mr. Wiscombe's first ride in an air plane. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wiscombe. Phyllis Swisher, small daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Swisher, Swish-er, has been on the sick list for two or three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Kettle and Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle attended at-tended funeral services for Henry Hen-ry Collins at Vernal, Thursday. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken Sun-Iday Sun-Iday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Bracken and son, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Pool and daughter, of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Bracken Brack-en and son, of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tru-jillo, Tru-jillo, Mrs. Louis Haddock and Mrs. Thomas Halen, of Roosevelt, Roose-velt, were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Coston on Saturday. The three sons of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kettle are ill with measles. Bishop Preston Atwood. of the Whiterocks ward, was a speaker at Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. Bishop Golden Collins and counselors, Wendel Johnson and Bernard Larsen, visited the Bennett Ben-nett Ward Sunday for Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting. Two of the three amendments presented to the members were passed. Those receiving approv- , al were No. I, which authorized the cooperative to purchase a power plant at Rangely and to do business in the state of Colorado; Colo-rado; and No. Ill, providing that members and non-members of the cooperative may be served electric energy in Colorado. No. II, which provided for the an- , nual meeting to be held in June 'instead of February, failed to pass, i Eleven men were nominated ! from the floor and voted upon ' by secret ballot. The seven receiving re-ceiving the highest number of votes will act as directors of the association for one year. The eleven candidates and votes received re-ceived by each are as follows.
