Emmons that their application applica-tion for a $2,366,000.00 loan to expand their program in Du-I Du-I chesne and Uintah counties, had been approved by the R.E.A. According to Louis Reese, manager of the Moon Lake Electric Co., his company is highly elated at the glad news, and in addition to expanding their operations in the two Basin Ba-sin counties, they will purchase the Rangely Colorado Light and Power Co., and rehabilitate its operations. The purpose of the loan is to make acquisition of Rangely Power and Light Co.'s entire generating and distribution facilities fa-cilities at Rangely, Colo., together to-gether with funds for the construction con-struction of additional new generation gen-eration and transmission facilities facili-ties to take care of its allocated loads and future loads through about 1955. The acquisition consists of a 2-1000 kw unit steam plant burning natural gas and supplying sup-plying principally the distribution distribu-tion system of Rangely. The proposed additional new construction con-struction consists of a 2-1000 kw dual fuel plant to be constructed construct-ed at the Rangely steam plant plus 71 miles of 69 kv transmission transmis-sion line extending from Rangely Range-ly to Lapoint, Utah. A 1000 kw sub-station will be located near Jensen, and a 2000 kw sub-station located near La-- La-- point, with a future plan of a : 1000 kw sub-station to be lo-i lo-i cated near Mt. Emmons, and extension ex-tension of the 69 kv transmission transmis-sion line to this point in about 1956. i The existing hydro-plant is to be rehabilitated by raising the dam four feet, constructing concrete con-crete sluiceway chamber, changing chang-ing intake structure, putting water wa-ter from Clyde Spring in 48 in pipeline, reservoir clearing and excavation of the tailrace. Approximately 100 miles of distribution line will be built to bring power to South Myton, Pleasant Valley, Gusher, Fruit-land, Fruit-land, Deep Creek, Brush Creek, and Dinosaur National Park. Automatic reclosers will be installed in-stalled over the system to improve im-prove continuity of service and aid in locating trouble. A two-way two-way radio system will be installed in-stalled to speed up operation.
