Show 123 Join Sn Roosevelt District Court Of Wmm David Dickerson Gets Highest -Exploring Award Boy Scout Troop 750 of the Roosevelt Third ward, walked off with the 1954-55 Advancement contest con-test buckskin during last Sunday's Court of Honor, held at the Mof-fatt Mof-fatt LDS chapel. A total of 123 people were on hand for the ceremony. cere-mony. Myton Troop, 253, took an early lead in the new 1955-56 Advancement Advance-ment contest by winning the Nov. Advancement ribbon. Explorer Past 2750, Roosevelt Third ward, took the Advancement ribbon in the contest set up for Explorer posts only. Sixty-seven badges were awarded award-ed to Scouts of Myton, Troop 253; Ballard, Troop 252; Roosevelt Third, Troon 750; Roosevelt Third, Post 2750; Roosevelt, Troop 251; and Neola, Troop 270. Announcement was made by Darrell Atkinson, member of the District Advancement committee, that the 1955 High Uinta Camp patches would be presented at the Dec. 4 Court of Honor slated for the Roosevelt stake house. All Scouts, Explorers, and their leaders lead-ers attending the June 27 to July 2 High Uinta Scout Camp, this year will receive a patch. David Dickerson, Explorer of Post 2750, received his Silver award, highest in the Explorer program. Douglas Labrum, Post 2750, received his Gold awards. Both Douglas and David received Emergency Service awards. These were the first ever presented in the district. Seven commissioners are currently enrolled in the Commissioner Commis-sioner course taught by George Hacking. Paul Murphy's District Committee course attracted 33 at Friday's session on "Organization of Scouting." "Advancement" will be the topic of this course Friday evening. Opening Ceremony An opening ceremony entitled "My Piece of Scouting" illustrated the importance of each person in Scouting learning his responsibility, responsibil-ity, then with proper execution of that responsibility, the ideals and skills of Scouting becomes a reality real-ity in the lives of boys. The ceremony cere-mony took place to the setting of a large full-stage poster depicting the new 4-year Scout slogan, "Onward, "On-ward, For God and My Country." Mr. Bacon explains that tomorrow's tomor-row's inspirational ceremony will be entitled, "What Do Boy Scouts Do?" "After the general assembly of one-half hour, instruction will be given in each of the seven departments de-partments for two hours," he continued. con-tinued.
