Show Colorful Parade To Start OBSG; Entries Solicited A beautiful and colorful parade I is being planned for the UBIC by the American Legion, who is in charge of this special part of the program. Fran Harrison is the general gen-eral chairman for the parade announces an-nounces that plans are going forward for-ward for an attractive and outstanding out-standing array of floats, bands, and other parade features. Floats will be classed and judged in three divisions: beauty first prize, $15.00; second prize, $10.00; originality first prize, $15.00; second prize $10-00; and novelty first prize, $12.50, with S7.50 to be given as the first prize for the best children's float in the novelty division, and $5.00 for the second prize. To qualify for the judging, the floats must be entered in the parade par-ade both days, August 3 and A.. In addition to the float entries, there will be an advanced and a junior band marching, the Legion color guard, the Roosevelt Riding Club and approximately 200 Boy Scouts. The committee stated that several sev-eral Indian floats had been promised prom-ised for the celebration and encourages en-courages Indian participation in the parade. Every business house and organization are expected to have entries in the parade. The parade will' start both days at 9:30 a.m. |
