Show Madsen Confirms Speaking Date; Gaeth Address Tentatively Set Heber J. Bennion, Jr., Utah secretary of state, has accepted an invitation to appear as one of the principal speakers at the U.B.I.C. celebration, Aug. 10-11, according to the U.B.I.C. committee. com-mittee. Mr. Bennion was selected select-ed to replace Gov. J. Bracken Lee, who was unable to be here for the celebration. With the acceptance of speaking speak-ing engagements by Mr. Bennion Ben-nion and President Louis L. Madsen, of Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural college, the list of speakers speak-ers for the two-day celebration is complete. An extensive outline of activities ac-tivities for the two days is as follows: Thursday morning general assembly as-sembly program ' 9-9:50 a. m. Grand parade, Uintah high school band, Uintah-Ouray Indian In-dian Boy Scouts, floats from business establishments, clubs, contestants, and exhibitors. 9:50-10 9:50-10 a. m. musical program, directed di-rected by E. J. Kirkham. 10-10:10 10-10:10 a. m. Introduction of U.B.I.C. committee speakers and instructors, by Forrest Hancock, U.B.I.C. president. 10:10-10:30 Opening address by Secretary Secre-tary of State Bennion. 10-40-11:30 a. m. Musical number by U.S.A.C.; an address, "The Future of Uintah Basin Agriculture," Agri-culture," by Louis L. Madsen, president, U.S.A.C. U.B.I.C. CLOSING HOURS Mayor Homer P. Edwards has issued a proclamation urging all stores to close Aug. 10 from 9 a. m. to 4 - p. m. in the interest of tlv- v U.B.I.C. - . Thursday evening assembly program 7:30-7:45 p. m. Community singing, directed by Mr. Kirkham. 7:45-8 p. m., A musical number by U. of. U.; address by Parley R. Neeley, area engineer for Central Utah project. 8 p. m. Moving picture show for the children. 9 p. m. Dancing. (Following the evening eve-ning assembly program at 9 p. m., the Standard Oil Co. of California will entertain with motion pictures at City Park, Gold.en Collins, Ballard, in charge.) Special amateur talent program. pro-gram. 8 p. m. Motion picture for the children. 9 p. m. Dancing. All assembly programs will be held at the recently constructed con-structed stage in City Park. The daily program for departments de-partments 11:30 - 12:30 a. m! Thursday, will include (1) Irrigation, Irri-gation, Horace Allred, chairman, chair-man, with George G. Clyde, regional re-gional engineer of the United States Soil Conservation service of the 11 Western states, and G. E. Untermann, curator of the Utah Field House of Natural History, Vernal, as the principal speakers; and (2) Nutrition, Mrs. Virginia Nielsen, chairwoman, with Miss Elna Miller, nutrition specialist, U.S.A.C., as principal speaker.
