Show Rural Telephone Bid Under Study The Uintah Basin application for rural telephone service is now under preliminary analysis at the Rural "Electrification administration, ad-ministration, Washington, D. C, according to a recent letter received re-ceived b y the Uintah Basin Telephone Cooperative, from Arthur W. Gerth, chief, applications ap-plications and Loans division. If such analysis is satisfactory, satisfac-tory, the Mt. Emmons cooperative coopera-tive will be in line for a loan under the provisions of the Rural Rur-al Electrification act as amended amend-ed in 1949. Mr. Gerth wrote: "We appreciate appre-ciate your patience with this initial stage of the telephone loan program. Inquiries have been received from approximat-ly approximat-ly 700 organizations requesting information and indicating interest in-terest in obtaining loans. Therefore, There-fore, it appears that several hundred applications for loans will be submitted during the first few months. Our staff, as well as our procedures, is still in the formative stages. Therefore, There-fore, some time may elapse before be-fore we are able to reach all of the applications. We are endeavoring en-deavoring to make this time as short as possible, and in general gen-eral the applications will be reviewed in the order in which received." |
