Show School Carnival Declared Success The Myton Elementary School Carnival was a huge success, both ftoainioMiy and socially. Games, a fish pond and fun in general brought entertainment en-tertainment to students and the adult attendants. A large crowd gathered Friday evening at the school gym to enjoy this annual event, to participate in the games and to sample the tasty foods on sale. The school faculty members deserve much credit for their endeavors in making the event such a big success, while the students prioved' their abilities in carrying carry-ing out the program. Mr. and Mrs. Monte ' Young, of San Simoen, GalDif., were visitors, Friday and Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish. Mr. Young is a former Basin resident, making mak-ing his home in Duchesne, when he was owner of the Duchesne Du-chesne Stage Lines, about 1915 to 1920. Mrs. Bessie Sutton, who has been visiting her sister, Miss Josephine Hunt. since the death of their sister, Gladys left Saturday for her home in South San Francisco, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Church returned Sunday evening from a ten-day vacation at Kanab, where they visited their family fam-ily and also enjoyed a bit of deer hunting. They report poor luck in the hunting field. Mr. and Mrs. Titus Jones, Mrs. Clair Winslow, Miss Laura Lau-ra demons, of Duchesne, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ferron. of Roosevelt, were among those from- out-of-town who attended attend-ed the services at the Presbyterian Presby-terian church. Sunday evening. FRIDAY BRIDGE Mrs. Rex Lamib, Mrs. Bliss Lott, Mrs. Homer Robinson, Mrs. W. H. Linck. Mrs. James Dalgleish and Mrs. Wesley Jensoin, members of the Friday Bridge Club, were guests at the home of Mrs. Floyd Lamb in Roosevelt, Friday afternoon. A dessert lunch, was served and bridge enjoyed. High score prize was awarded to Mrs. Robinson. Rob-inson. Miss Alice Todd. Mrs. J. L. Countland and Mrs. Lavar Peterson Pet-erson attended the Democratic Women's Tea. Saturday afternoon after-noon at the home of. Mrs. C. L. Ashton in Roosevelt. DANCE A SUCCESS The annual Hallowe'en costume cos-tume ball, sponsored by Wm. R. Sands Post No. 5 at the Legion hall, Saturday night was a gala affair. The judges found it really difficut to select se-lect the winning costumes, but after much deliberation awarded award-ed prizes to the most wierd couple, 2 inmates of a "Crazy House," Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Cooper, and to the most original orig-inal costumed couple, a gum chewing "flapper" and her partner, Mr. and Mrs. Lavar Peterson. |
