Show School Calendar Iteleased By Supt. Oowan Stufz The 1954-55 school term calendar cal-endar of events for the Duchesne Du-chesne County School District has been released .by Supt. Rowan Row-an C. Stutz. Total classroom days for the school year is listed at 175. Important Im-portant vacation dates scheduled sched-uled are for Thanksgiving, on Nov. 25-26; Christmas, Dec. 24 to Jan 3 (sdhoioi -closes for Christmas vacation at 4 p.m. on Dec. 23); Easter, April 7-10 (school closes for Easter vacation vaca-tion alt 4 p.m., April 6). March 11-12 is scheduled for the Rural Education Conference; and graduation exercises in the respective high schools in the county will be set for May 23-27. 23-27. May 25 is listed as the last day of classroom instruction. Union High School graduation is set for May 26. Principals' meetings are scheduled for Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Jan. 12, Feb. 9, Mar. 9, April 13, and May 11. Other important dates scheduled sched-uled for observance in the county coun-ty sdhools include American Education Ed-ucation Week, Nov. 7-13: Arm istice Day. Nov. 11; International Interna-tional Golden Rule Week, Dec. 5- 12; National Thrift Week, Jan. 17-23; Boy Scout Week, Feb. 6- 12; Children's Dental Health Day (National), Feb. 7; Lincoln's Lin-coln's Birthday, Feb. 12; Brotherhood Broth-erhood Week (National), Feb. 20-27; George Washington's Birthday, Feb. 22; St. Patrick's Day, Mar. 17; National Wildlife Restoration Week, Mar. 20-26; Conservation Week, April 3-9; National Boys and Girds Week, April 30-May 7; Mother's Day, May 8; V. E. Day, May 8; Flag Day, May 14. The first semester ends on Jan. 14. |
