Show (tHend (ykurcli ()n (Lnsivnas j Christmas this year has a great: er challenge than usual to all Christian families to take a little time off and go as a group to church. Because Sunday is a natural nat-ural day to worship Our Father in Heaven by attending church, it will be a very natural thing to spend some of our time on Christmas Christ-mas in church. Th various Roosevelt wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and St. Helen s Catholic Church have announced that appropriate programs are being be-ing arranged in observance of the birth of our Saviour. Special invitations invi-tations are being extended to the community to join these churches in observing the sabbath and Christmas. The Roosevelt Baptist church held their Christmas programs pro-grams last Sunday, to afford their pastor a chance to go to his home in Texas for a visit. Therefore, nothing special is planned for this week by the Baptists. St. Helen's Program The Rev. Ignatius Strancar, pastor pas-tor at St. Helen's church, has announced an-nounced their schedule and extends ex-tends an invitation to all Catholics and others to join in their pro- j grams. Following is the schedule: December 24, 1955 Vigil' of Christmas, Day of Fast and Abstainence Confessions 11-12 a.m.; 3-4 and 7.8 p.m. High Mass 12 o'clock midnight. mid-night. Procession with Christmas Carols and sermon. December 25, 1955 Feast of Nativity of Our Lord, Jesus Christ Masses at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. LDS To Hear Cantata (Continued on Back Page) ATTEND YOUR CHURCH (Continued trom page one) The Roosevelt First and Second wards are combining their Sacrament Sacra-ment meetings and will have as a feature, a sacred cantata, "The Music of Christmas'," presented by the Union High School music department de-partment under the direction of Owen F. Burgener. Time of the meeting and program is 7:30 p.m. Each of these wards will have special spe-cial programs in their Sunday School in the morning. In the Third and Fourth wards, special Christmas music and messages mes-sages are being prepared for their Sacrament meeting services' at 6 p.m. They also will have Christmas Christ-mas programs in Sunday School. All class work on Christmas will be dispensed with in each of the wards. Bishops of the four wards report re-port that the regular schedule for priesthood meetings will be followed follow-ed as usual on Sunday morning. |
