Show Special Thanks For Fair Support John P. Madsen, finance chairman of the Duchesne County Coun-ty Fair, and a member of the Utah State Fair committee, who supervised the building of a public fish pond for Duchesne, and which opened during the fair; has asked that a word of appreciation go to all those who assisted in the financial success of the 1953 fair. "For a long time a fishing pond in Duchesne has been a dream, but now it is a reality. A lot of people aided me in this project and deserve thanks for their efforts. Especially do I want to thank Lon Bogart, Arnold Ar-nold Robbins and his son, Ron-ny, Ron-ny, who spent many long hours in excavating and constructing the pool, and Dave Wright, chief of the state fish hatcheries, who delivered the first load of fish to the pond so that those little youngsters under 12 could have a fishing contest on the last day of the fair," Mr. Madsen said. There has not been an 0111-cial 0111-cial report made on the financial finan-cial success of the fair to date, but under the direction of Mr. Madsen, it is expected to be a definite success. |
