Show Mrs. Eihel Beebe Receives Injury In Tractor Accident Tyrone Kolb, Jr. received a broken pelvis bone, Friday gept. 5th when a tractor which v,e was driving went off the road. Tyrone, thinking it was noing to tip over, jumped, and jj0t jumping far enough, the back wheel ran over him. He is in the Roosevelt Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson Ander-son moved their house to Alta-mont Alta-mont on Sept. 5. Mrs. Harold Morris returned home Sunday night from a visit vis-it in Salt Lake1 City. Her husband, hus-band, who is employed in Wyoming, Wy-oming, was in Salt Lake for a few hours. Mrs. Morris also visited vis-ited her mother, Mrs. Jane Gig-gi, Gig-gi, who is quite ill. Mr. .and Mrs. Harold Fowler i and family left Thursday, Sept. 3 on a vacation in Twin Falls, Idaho and Yellowstone Park. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Turner, of Springville, were weekend visitors vis-itors of their uncle and aunt, lr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Clark. Ed Case and Preston Allen . went to Salt Lake City, Sunday to bring Mr. Case's wife home ' from the St. Marks Hospital. 1 A large crowd of people from Altonah attended the Duchesne County Fair, Sept. 3, 4, 5. Those receiving blue ribbons from AL-1 AL-1 tonah were, Mrs. Mary Riley, on flowers; Mrs. Inez Ames, on a scarf, and Sharrel Ames on a suit. Mr. and Mrs. ' Bud Johnson ' and daughter, Shirley, of Lehi. were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Johnson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ralphs. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Mendis and two' children, of Palmerton, Penn., and Mr. and Mrs. Steve ' Kappas, of Springville, were weekend visitors at the homos of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Clark and Mrs. Harold Morris. Mrs. Mendiz and Mrs. Kappas are sisters of Mr. Clark and Mrs. Morris. A large crowd attended the Labor Day dance at the Legion hall, Saturday night. Reese Timothy's Tim-othy's orchestra furnished the music. Amon and Oscar Cace, of Midvale, visited Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bowden last week. Virgil Miller, who is serving in the U. S. Navy, is home on a furlough. He has been visiting his mother, Mrs. Gilbert Anderson, An-derson, of Lapoint, for the past week. He also spent a few days visiting at the home of Mrs. Mary Carroll. Fenton Powell and Lee Jessen are the school bus drivers from Altonah. Mrs. Madelyn Parkins is teaching at Altamont Dr. and Mrs. F. W. Parker and son, of Gallup, New Mexico, arrived Monday, Sept. 7th to spend a week with their nephew neph-ew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Palm. Mrs. Max Stevenson and new baby daughter come home from the Roosevelt hospital Monday Mr and Mrs. Albert Potts and daughters, of Duchesne, visited at the home of Mrs. Potts' mother, moth-er, Mrs. Elva Snyder, Wednesday. Wednes-day. Mr. Potts recently received a discharge from the service to teach school in Duchesne He is principal of the elementary grades. Genealogy meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Minnie Maxfield, Sunday night. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Clen-ty Clen-ty Ames, Mr. and iMrs. C. N Shiner, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Maxfield and Perry Maxfield. Mrs. Claude Murray and new son came home from the Roosevelt Roose-velt Hospital Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dump, accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Har-ry Fieldsted, made a trip to Evanston and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Wy-oming, and Yellowstone Park. They returned home Tuesday Sept. 8. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Clark left Thursday on a trip to Idaho They returned home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Tallerico, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Miller, of Dragerton; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Liddell and Mr. and Mrs. Abe Liddell, of Roosevelt, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Clark on Labor Day. Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Perkins made a business trip to Salt Lake City Thursday. John Clark, of Bonanza, was in town last weekend to get his son, Darwin Leavitt, who has been visiting here for a couple of weeks. The American Legion and Auxiliary held their regular meeting in the Legion hall, Wednesday Wed-nesday night. After separate business meetings they joined together in a social. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Murray announce the arrival of a baby boy, born at the Roosevelt Hospital, Hos-pital, Friday, Sept. 4th. |
