Show ieetcSemeit Mrs. Fern Houston 4-H Girls Win County Honors Tuesday the 4-H Club girls went to Vernal to enter the fashion fa-shion show and display their needlework, along with other 4-H girls in the county. Donna Hall, Bertha Bolton, Carol Gene Hall all took second prizes for their work. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hall dud family, of Hazlehurst, Georgia, called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Horrocks this week while enroute to California. They are friends of Byron Horrocks, Hor-rocks, who is serving a mission in Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hall went to Salt Lake City Wednesday. Carol Gene went for a physical examination before starting school. Mrs. Mary Hamakcr, Ellis, Weston and family, of Dugway. were here to spend the Labor Day holiday. Mrs. Frances Bowen is joining her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Butterfield, of River-ton, River-ton, for a vacation trip to Denver. Den-ver. Mrs. J. A. Houston and Mrs. George Houston were present at a party given by Mrs. Janie Zimmerman at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Larsen, Lar-sen, of Neola, Monday afternoon. All enjoyed the pleasant afternoon after-noon and the dainty lunch of baked Alaska and punch. Favors were baskets of nuts and candy. Mrs. Zimmeman will return to her home in Dallas, Texas, sometime some-time this month. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Miller, of Springville visited over the week end with her sister. Mrs. Winfred Long, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Adams, of Roosevelt, visited Sunday evening eve-ning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Horrocks. The Stake Mia-Maids and Explorers Ex-plorers had a partv at the Stake House Thursday night Attending Attend-ing from here were Kenneth Phillips, Billie Haslem, Bertha Bolton, Carol Springer, Douglas Phillips and Garr Bolton. Two baby boys were christened christen-ed at church Sunday Lynn Alan, son of Mervin and Lorina Ham-aker, Ham-aker, and John Perry Bowen, son of Keith and Norma Bowen. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Williams, of Salt Lake,, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Bolton. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Houston, Hous-ton, of Provo, were week end guests at the home of John's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J, A. Houston. They also visited with Mrs. Houston's sister, Mrs. Johnny John-ny Harvey, of Tridell. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Hanson and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lindlev, of Provo, took advantage of the Labor Day holiday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Houston. Mrs. WUliam Sorenson, of Las Vegas, Nevada, has spent the past month with her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Margaret Harrison, of Lapoint. The Leeton No. 1 well is being drilled at a depth of 8275 feet in lime and shale. There is 5 per cent salt. ' |
