Show Flag City Bond Campaign Starts Sept. 17 Operation Flag City chairman for Roosevelt, Mrs. Parley Rawl-ings. Rawl-ings. announced this week that plans are underway for the Flag City campaign which will commence com-mence Monday, Sept. 17, at 8:30 a. m. and continue through to September 25. The purpose of the campaign is to try to get 80 per cent of the employers in cities over 1000 population to install the U. S. Savings Bonds plan, wherein where-in 25 per cent of the employees will pledge to buy bonds. To acquaint the public with the plan, talks will be given to various organizations, and editorials ed-itorials and stories will appear in the local papers. Cities reaching their bond quota pledges during the abovj specified time, will receive a beautiful flag, and the city reaching its quota first will receive re-ceive special recognition by being be-ing presented with a plaque. The bond buying can be done on a minimum basis, and plans have been worked out whereby it will not be a hardship on anyone. Mrs. Rawlings states that workers to assist her will be announced next week. All employers em-ployers in the city will be contacted con-tacted by' the committee members. |
