Show Hew Priest Takes Over Catholic Duties In Oasin Members of the Roman Catholic Cath-olic church in the Uintah Basin last Friday, Dec. 1, were greeting greet-ing a new priest, Father Al-phonse Al-phonse A. LeMay, as he arrived ar-rived here to direct the affairs of his church in St. Helen's church in Roosevelt, and St. 'James church, Vernal. He succeeds suc-ceeds Father Timothy Ryan, who was temporarily sent to ihe Basin after Father Wendell Luetmer was transferred over a month ago. The new rector comes here from Cedar City, where he had been head of the parish in Iron county since 1936 at Christ the King parish. Prior to that he spent one year at the Cathedral of the Magdeline in Salt Lake City. tather LeMay is a native of Rhode Island, and was ordained by Cardinal Hayes in 1935 after having been graduated from Manhattan college in New York. The new priest will distribute his time between the two Basin 'churches, and will conduct services ser-vices according to a schedule announced an-nounced by him. He is a pleasant pleas-ant fellow and no- doubt will be well received by communicants of the Catholic church and the public in general.
