Hayes, registrar. They are: Joyce Abplanalp, Afton Mae Bingham, Alma June Black, Merla Bond, Clara Brod-erick, Brod-erick, Hayle Buchanan, Gwen Case, Edith Cook, Lois Griffin, Marie Haslem, Rhea Haslem, Rita Ri-ta Hutcheon, June Anna Snyder, Donald Paul Sprouse, Lois Ve-loy Ve-loy White, Boyd G. Williams, Bonnie Mae Zirker. Election of officers was the order of business for Basin Lodge No. 20, F. & A. M- at its regular meeting on Dec. 3. As a prelude to the ensuing Masonic Ma-sonic year, the following officers were elected: worshipful master, Elmer Snow, of Jensen; senior warden, Frank Chamberlin, Whiterocks; junior warden, J. D. Marimon, Whiterqcks, In vhat promises to be an outstanding event in Uintah Basin Ba-sin Scouting, Roosevelt district Scouts, their parents and their leaders, will hold a rally and Court of Honor in the Roosevelt ward hall, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p. m. A wire from Senator Elbert D. Thomas in Washington, D. C. this morning informed Mayor George H. Harrison that President Presi-dent Roosevelt, before leaving for his Caribbean cruise, had approved Roosevelt city's 1941 street-sidewalk project. This project pro-ject calls for the expenditure of $19,991, and will include the mining and laying of asphalt on nine blocks of city streets and several blocks of sidewalk. Heber Moon, of Hanna, was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Utah Wool Growers' Ass'n. to represent Duchesne Du-chesne county. Garn Gilbert, of Arcadia, battled bat-tled to victory in a 14-pound class bout with Ted Williams of the Uintah high school F.A.A. chapter. Another member of Roosevelt high school's Toyack F.A.A. chapter, Douglas Lawson, president, who took part in the 'fights, lost a decision to Ron-laid Ron-laid Merkley, of Vernal, i Mrs. Walter E. Atwood, who will leave after Christmas for Fresno, Calif., to make her :home, was the honored guest at a party given at the home of Mrs. Clifford Angus. The Roosevelt Lions club entertained en-tertained their ladies Friday evening, Nov. 28, at a trukey banquet. It was the first time since the organization; of the Roosevelt Lions club that the ladies have been allowed to enter the den and find out just what kept their husbands away so long two nights a month. Robert L. Marimon and Miss Florence Phillips were married at Myton on Wednesday afternoon, after-noon, the Rev. Henry officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Albert Dastrup, of Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, and has been employed by the Roosevelt State Bank for a number of years. The groom is the son of Mrs. R. L. Marimon, Mari-mon, of Whiterocks, and Is now engaged in teaching. |
