Show LDS Church Heads Caution About Fire Prevention In order to meet the present hot and dry hazardous condition, and to prevent, if possible, a fire involving Church property, a letter has been sent out by Presiding1 Bishopric to all bishops bish-ops of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. According to Bishop Thorpe Isaacson, they are suggesting to each bishop that every fire hazard be removed, that every precaution be taken to prevent a fire; that there be a thorough clean up of all the church property pro-perty to remove fire hazards stored in closets, under stairways, stair-ways, in basements or attics. In some places cheat grass grows right up to the back door of the chapels. It is now dry an1 could be the cause of a fire. Other dry materials are in piles autside the building, usually in the back yard. At this time, because be-cause of hot, dry weather, there are many more dangerous risks of a fire. Fires, like accidents, happen when least expected. Prevent a fire by removing the cause for one. |
