Show Lapoint Mrs. Mable Jenkins Mrs. Bertha Cutch, mother of Mrs. James Shavanaugh, and Claris went to Provo to take her son, Newman, for medical care. Mrs. Barbara Nyberg returned return-ed home from Los Angeles, where she spent the summer with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Moore. Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson, of Gusher, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins, Sr. on Wednesday. Wed-nesday. The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers held their meeting Thursday. Sept. 21, at the home of Mrs. Eva Christensen. John Woodruff and his two grandsons, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend with his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Turner. They returned to Salt Lake City Sunday, where Mr. Woodruff will have an operation. opera-tion. Max Taylor, of Brldgeland, and his mother, Mrs. Roy Taylor, Tay-lor, visited his grandmother, Mrs. Roxie Taylor, and Mr. and Mrs, Charlie Bigelow, last week. Mr. Taylor entered the mission home in Salt Lake, Oct. 2. Mrs. Joyce Long, after visiting visit-ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bigelow, accompanied i her husband, Norman, to Logan Tuesday, where he will enroll at U.S.A.C. for the coming year. ! Bishop and Mrs. Lee Walker, ;Mr. and Mrs. Merrell Rasmus sen went to Salt Lake City Thursday to attend conference. I Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Christensen Chris-tensen entertained at a chicken dinner Sept. 24, in honor of Bob Gadd, Mrs. Christensen's brother, who is entering the armed forces, Sept. 28. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Don-ald Dunn and daughter, of Craig, Colo., Mr. and Mrs, Earl Gadd, Mr, and Mrs, LaVan Karren and sons. Miss Charlie Mantle and Pat Mantle, all of Blue Mountain. Colo,; and Mr. and Mrs, Lawrence Lee and family, of Lapoint. Bob will report to Denver for training. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Huber and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Huber attended funeral services for Eph Mohlman at Altonah, last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Nyberg, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hoopes, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bigelow, Mr, and Mrs. Roy Huber and June Woolley went to Brldgeland, Wednesday evening, to attend the farewell party given in the Bridgeland chapel for Max Taylor, Tay-lor, who entered the mission home Oct. 2. Mr. and Ms. Stanley Hoopes and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Eksund, of Neola, last Sunday. Mrs. Coy Haywood, of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, spent a few days with her mother, Mrs. Roxie Taylor. Mrs. Phoebe Horrocks and Mrs. Rozella Horrocks visited relatives in Vernal Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Workman Work-man and family, of Whiterocks canyon, spent Sunday with Mrs. Workman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Thurmer Ras-mussen Ras-mussen went to Salt Lake this week to assist Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lowe in moving- back to Roosevelt. Mr. Lowe has been called back into service, and Mrs. Lowe plans to live in Roosevelt during his absence. The Special Interest group of the M.I.A. held a progressive supper Thursday night. About 35 gathered at the chapel and then progressed to the following houses: Orville Swain's. Charlie Taylor's, and Elmer Huber's. LaMont Neilson. local president presi-dent of the Parent-Teacher association, as-sociation, Mrs. Raymond Bigelow, Bige-low, Mrs. Cyrus Thompson, Mrs. Ray Lee and Mrs. Delbert Horrocks Hor-rocks attended the Regional P.T.A. convention at Roosevelt high school Saturday. Miss Beatrice Stringham visited vis-ited the Lapoint school Friday. Mrs. Melvin Hackford spent the weekend with her husband, who is working- at Heber. The Speech Festival, under the direction of Mrs. LaMont Neilson, was given Tuesday evening. eve-ning. Vernal visitors included Mr. and Mrs. Don Walker and Loren Merrill.
