Show Kiwanis Honors American Press The Rosevelt Kiwanis club last night observed National Newspaper Week by hearing of the organization of the small town newspapers on a local, state and national level, and listening to a band concert by some of the children of . the local school, under the direction direc-tion of David Watkins, music director. Cliff Memmott. editor of the Roosevelt Standard, was in charge of the program. A report of the nominating committee was made by Floyd Peterson, chairman, and the date of the club's election was set for October 25. Newly elected officers will be expected to attend a training conference of the Utah-Idaho district in Pocatello, Idaho, on Nov. 18 and 19. President Darrel Walker read a number of resolutions passed at the last district convention in Grand Canyon, and announced an-nounced that the 1951 convention conven-tion would be held at Sun Valley. Val-ley. Guests at the meeting were Dr. Julius P. Alsberg. of Ft. Duchesne, and Dr. Paul String-ham, String-ham, of Roosevelt. |
