Show Rough Riders Take On Alterra In Fight For Cellar , Coach Elden Wright will lead his Rough Riders in quest ot their first 1950 grid victory in league play Friday, when his charges tangle with the Alterra eleven on the Roosevelt field at 1:30 p. m. Both teams have lost to Moab and Vernal and are in a tie for the cellar spot. A newcomer to the Utah coaching field, Mr. Wright is a graduate of the BYU and received re-ceived his degree from the Provo Pro-vo school last spring, having a major in physical education arid health. He is a native of Heber ' City. In 1941, Coach Whight . entered the University of Utah, . where he played football for Ike Armstrong for two years. ' In 1943, he answered the call to serve his country and was a" member of the U. S. Navy for. the next 3 years. When he returned re-turned he continued his' education educa-tion at the B.Y.U. Coach Wright is married and has three children. His wife's name is Blanche, and he says they are sure they are going to like Roosevelt very much. Friday's game will be played at the city park with the kick-off kick-off set for 1:30. Vernal travels to Moab where the two teams will settle the leadership of the league argument. v |
