Attracting considerable interest inter-est was the beautiful display of ' handiwork done by members throughout the stake. A program pro-gram was presented and instruc-I instruc-I tions given to ward workers for the coming season's work, af-j af-j ter which the ladies enjoyed a plate lunch. Parker and Their Gomrn, US AC students, were here the forepart fore-part of last week for a visit with their, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben C. Comm. . Deane and Peggy Ann Case left last week to enroll at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young' university. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carpenter, of Manti, visited during the week with Mrs. Carpenter's sister sis-ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy W. Rust. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hart-jman Hart-jman and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene j Hartman were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hartman in Duchesne Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hartman- remained over night i to assist with the threshing. Eu- gene and his wife returned i home Thursday evening. J. Edgar Holder. Mrs. H. E. Rockhill, of Duchesne, Du-chesne, was a guest during the past week of her sister, Mrs. Mary A. Case. The Republican Ladies club is planning to meet with the Republican ladies in Altonah this week for the purpose of uniting the two towns in one or-' ganization. Mrs. J. Edgar Holder Hold-er will discuss the Korean situation. situ-ation. Mrs. Jesse Allen, of Myton, My-ton, and Mrs. Wilford McConkie, of Roosevelt, will give talks. Ladies heading the Mt. Emmons club are Mrs. Lyrad McConkie, Mrs. Anna Hartman and Mrs. Johnny Lambert. The M.I.A. Special Interest group of . the Moon Lake Stake staged a square dance and pot-1 luck party at the ward ball, ! Thursday evening, October 28. According to notices sent out, they did every step "under the sun." Mrs Edgar Miles, leader of the group, had the affair in charge. Mrs. Dora, Berd, of Altonah, has accepted the position with the R.E.A. left vacant by the resignation of Deane Case. The Explorers and Mia Maids met at a fireside at the Grant Hansen home Sunday evening. Ross Berrett, agricultural instructor in-structor at the high school spoke on reverence. Mrs. Hansen served cake and ice cream. Leaders of the groups are Wm. R. Evans and Mrs. Lawrence Ward. Bennie Schmiett, Democratic county chairman, called a meeting meet-ing here Monday night of precinct pre-cinct chairmen and candidates for office. Plans for the coming election campaign were discussed. |
