Show 'Family Honors ! George A. Searle On 82nd Birthday George A. Searle, well-known Uintah Basin pioneer, was honored hon-ored on his 82nd birthday, September Sep-tember 16, by his family and friends. Mr. Searle has held open-house to his family and friends throughout through-out the week. Relatives from near and distant points have called to extend their good wishes. The attraction next in importance, im-portance, to Mr. ..Searle's 82nd birthdav anniversary was a mam-outh mam-outh five-layer cake, measuring measur-ing 17 inches across, and .26 inches long.. It was lighted with 82 candles. ' Music during the evening was furnished by DaWayne Doncgan, a grandson of Mr. Searle. Mr. Searle's life is interwoven with the "development of the Uintah Basin as a livestock producing pro-ducing center of the west. Born in Pavson, Utah on September 16, 1864. Mr. Searle received his early schooling at Clover Valley, Nevada. In 1883 the Searle family fam-ily settled in the Ashlev Valley. From that time, on Mr. Sea.rle played a vital part in the settlement settle-ment of the Basin. Working into Colorado, Mr. Searle drove cat'le for many of the large livestock i concerns of the area. At.ie time he had the contract for furnishing furnish-ing beef to the government d"r-ing d"r-ing the construction ' of Ft. Duchesne. Du-chesne. ! |
