Show Memorial Services Pay Homage To World War II Dead Roosevelt and Myton paid homage to the dead of World War II in separate ceremonies, held Sunday, November 16. At Myton the program was under the direction of Wm. R. Sands Post No. 5, American Legion, and was held at 2 p. m. in the Myton Ward chapel. Myton city and community organizations assisted as-sisted in the ceremonies. Colors were advanced by An-tone An-tone Uresk and Calvin Monks with Acel Bingham and George Wedig as guards. Invocation was offered ty Leonard Harris, followed fol-lowed by Post Commander Gil-Ian Gil-Ian speaking on the purpose of the memorial. As a floral wreath, designed in patriotic colors, was placed before the altar by Gold Star Mothers, Mrs. Bertha Angus, An-gus, Mrs. Mary Ankerpont and Mrs. Felix Quitana and Gold Star Fathers J. W. Jensen and W. M. Carrol, "Sleep Soldier. Sleep" was sung by Mrs. Lionel BaBcock, accompanied by Mrs. O. A. Dart. Taps and a gun salute by the American Legion, an address by Mayor W. H. Linck and remarks by Leonard Harris completed the memorial. At Roosevelt a special program pro-gram was presented at the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Ward Sacrament meeting, Sunday evening. It was a memorial memor-ial honoring those who gave their lives in the last war. Invocation was by John A. Gilbert: talks were given by Dr. John R. Bourne, Glenn C. Garfield Gar-field and Bert Swain. Musical selections were offered by Re-nee Re-nee Labrum and the Roosevelt High School chorus. |
