Show &SXSX5XSX5XSX5XSXSS LAPOINT XSXaXSXSXSXSX&S0SX2X5 Elliot Bisel, who is home on a furlough after serving overseas for over 2Vz years and his mother, moth-er, Mrs. Bisel of Bennett and a sister, Lola Bisel of Salt Lake City visited at the home of Otto Bisel and family during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Fillingim and son of Florida visited with L. J. Walker and family during the week, Mrs, Fillingim will remain re-main with her parents, Mr. and ' Mrs. L. J. Walker and Mr. Fillingim Fill-ingim will return to duty. Hayden Foster's Sunday j school class entertained the following fol-lowing three service boys at a party Monday night at the home of Mrs. Minnie Reynolds: Craig and Blaine Caldwell and Donald Rasmussen who were home on furlough. Games were played and lunch served. Robert Rasmussen Ras-mussen of Salt Lake City home on a leave from the Navy and who was visiting here, was also in attendance. 30 guests were present. Mrs. Waive Burton Nelson left during the week for San Francisco Fran-cisco to visit her husband, Vernon Ver-non Nelson who is stationed there. Her mother, Mrs. Norma Burton will take care of her I baby. The Relief society presidency and class leaders entertained the visiting teacher Monday afternoon after-noon in the chapel. Games were played and a delicious hot lunch was served. I Mrs. Virgie Rasmussen and Mrs. Donell Rasmussen of Salt Lake City and her son Robert who is home from the Navy, visited relatives and friends here during the week. They were all former residents of La-point. La-point. Mrs. Alic Angus left Thursday for Rock Spring, Wyoming to visit her daughter, Mrs. Elva Tallifero and family, also the new baby girl, born January 12. Mrs. Eliza Nelson received word that a baby boy was born to her son, Mr. and Mrs. La-mont La-mont Nelson at Los Angeles, California. Lamont i3 in the Army and stationed there. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Abbeggren visited the past week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Abbegglen. Lewis has just recently re-cently been released from the army. Mrs. Birdie Searle of Vernal also visited her parents, during the week. Mrs. Frank Bennett of American Ameri-can Fork visited with the Bige-low Bige-low families and Minnie Reynolds Reyn-olds during the week. Mrs. Mae Sprouse accompanied accompan-ied her son, Mr. and Mrs. Clive Sprouse to Provo on Thursday where she visited her daughter, Donna Walker and family. Eva Mecham and Russel Keet-ch Keet-ch of Vernal held an agriculture meeting in the chapel Wednesday Wednes-day night. Emma Swenson of Salt Lake City is visiting her sister, Helen Pillsburg and her brother, John Lambert and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Caldwell Cald-well and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Rasmussen gave a party and dance in the Lapoint chapel Thursday night in honor of their sons, Craig and Blaine Caldwell, and Donald Rasmussen home on furlough. A program was render- cu auu uuiii.il cujuj cia. vi aig i and Donald are paratroopers and had to report back to Ft. Benning, Georgia; Blaine is in i the Navy and will remain here for awhile. Mrs. Lizzie Jenkins and son Ray of Vernal were visitors at the home of Frank Jenkins and family Sunday. Mrs. Thelma Winn and daugh- ter, Mrs. Arda Caldwell and baby ba-by were visitors in Salt Lake City over the week end. Ersol Sprouse and wife accompanied them to Salt Lake City where they took the bus to Santa Ana, California to visit her mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. McCleary. Mr. McCleary is seriously ill. Mrs. Annie Warburlon of Roosevelt visited her son, Earl Warburton and daughter, Mrs. Fern Nyberg and families over the week end. Clark Abbegglen who has been taking his boot training in the Navy, arrived home Saturday Satur-day night on a furlough. |
