Show Thursday, SOCIETY Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter FIRESIDE CHAT ' The Roosevelt Ward M Men and Gleaner Girls enjoyed a lovely fireside meeting Sunday evening at the home of Dr. and Mrs R. V. Larscn. An interesting interest-ing review of the book "The Bishop's Mantle" was given by Mrs. Howard Harrison. The evening terminated with tasty refreshments served to .thirty-five guests. JUST-A-MERE Lovely in all details was the temptinq desert luncheon given at the Grant Killian home last Wednesday evening when Mrs. Killian entertained members of Just-A-Mcrc club. Covers were laid for Mrs. Far-rell Far-rell Wilkins, Mrs. Reva Owen, Mrs. Verlen Labrum. Mrs. Clint Killian, Mrs. Ted Jensen. Mrs. Tom While. Mrs. Clair Larscn. Mrs. Ruben Larscn, Mrs. Darrell Walker, Mrs. Richard Adams and Mrs. Ed Labrum. j Grand prize was won by Mrs. Farrell Wilkins. 1 FRIDAY BRIDGE Pink and red roses vlcnt their charm to the decorative theme when Mrs. Louis Cor bridge entertained en-tertained members of her club on September 3. A delightfully arranged dessert luncheon was served with places marked for Mrs Jack McLca. Mrs. Eugene Harmston, Mrs. Lester Mullins, Mrs Robert Huish, Mrs. Wayne Malin. Mrs C 'L. Ashlon. Mrs. Bennie Schmidt, Mrs. Parley Lambert, Mrs. Lynn Orser. Mrs, Axel Birch and Mrs. R. S. Jordan. Jor-dan. Following luncheon, the remainder re-mainder of the evening was tie-voted tie-voted to cards with prizes going to Mrs. Mullins, M.rs. Jordan and Mrs. Malin. LEADERSHIP PARTY Holding a lop spot on llvj week's social calendar was the party given Friday evening, Sept. 3, at the Leo Hanson residence, resi-dence, under the direction or the LDS Girls leadership committee. A scavanger hunt, under the supervision of Mrs. Delia "Garfield, "Gar-field, Junior Girls advisor, and Reva Allred, first counselor, provided a gay evening of entertainment. enter-tainment. A tasty corn and wci-ner wci-ner roast around a gloWing fire place terminated the festivities. Thirty-one girls and twelve of-Ificcrs of-Ificcrs and teachers enjoyed the occasion. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Mrs. Joseph Rawlintfs entertained enter-tained members of Neighborhood Sewing club at a delightful salad course luncheon at her home on September 1. Enjoying her hospitality were Mrs. Ncldon Nyberg, Mrs. Guy Burton, Mrs. Clifton Laris. Mrs. Stanley Hall, Mrs. Floyd Labrum, Lab-rum, Mrs. George Hacking, Mrs Louis Laris, Mrs. Parley Raw-lings Raw-lings and Mrs. Woodrow Nelson. ALTRUS Altrus club held its first meeting meet-ing of the current season Monday evening at the home of Mrs. La Rue Nixon, with Mrs. Alberta Jensen as co-hostess. Mrs. M. J. Edwards, club president, conducted con-ducted the business meeting. It was decided to hold future meetings on Thursday evenings. Following' current tonics by the club members, Mrs. Ncdra Nickel Nick-el pave a very interesting and , entertaining review of "The House That Jacob Built" by John Gould. BRACKEN FAMILY REUNION A reunion of the family of Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken was held at the Bracken home in Ballard Sunday, September 5. This was the first time that the entire-.Bracken family has been together for over eight years. The following sons and daughters daugh-ters and their children were present: Mr. and Mrs. Karl Bracken, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Duanc Bracken, Roosevelt; Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Campbell and their three children, Guy Bracken, lone, California; Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle and their three children, Ballard; Mr. and Mrs. Woodie Marshal and children. chil-dren. Lynn Bracken and Rhea Bracken, of Salt Lake. Charles Pool, of Salt Lake, attended as a family guest. A total of twenty-four persons were in attendance. MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED Announcement is made this week of the marriage of Elva Harris and Helen Harris, daughters daugh-ters of Mr. and Mrs. N. K. Harris, Har-ris, of Roosevelt, to Dahl Gard- ner. son of Mr, and Mrs. Rex Gardner, of Ncola, and to Floyd Wilkerson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Van Wilkerson, of Neola, respectively. res-pectively. The young couplea were united in a double ceremony performed Tuesday, August 31, in Salt Lake City, Both couples will make their homes in Neola STAR ROUTE STITCHERS The Star Route Stitchers 4-H club held its Mother's Tea, Sept. 2 with the following program presented: Song, Billy Reidhead; reading, Nedene Cark; skit. Shar Lynn Larsen. Rosana. Hustead, Verna Freston and Nedene Clark.. The mothers looked over the articles which had been msde during the summer. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served. |
