Show "Spook" Fires fa'ot Hairaculous A few weeks ago "spook fires" appeared on a farm in Illinois and the experts were wondering whether gas, radio activity, fly sprays or roach paste might have caused the mysterious flames. The investigating agents were somewhat wary of going on the record as to the causes of the blazes. Finally, a thirteen-year-old girl admitted that she started the fires, using only matches. If a deputy state fire marshal had not been suspicious of the girl and the child had suddenly ceased her activity, the cause of the fires might have continued mysterious. If so, the neighborhood neighbor-hood would have been puzzled for years by the "spook" blazes and there is no telling what explanation ex-planation might have been handed hand-ed down through the years. Human beings are extremely gullible, despite their highly touted intelligence, and seem to be looking for something supernatural super-natural and miraculous. All through the ages, men and women, wo-men, when confronted with some thing: that they could not understand, under-stand, have fallen back upon the supernatural as an explanation. This enables them to avoid the study necessary to solve the mysterious. |
