Show This Week And Next In The Basin Joint commencement exercises, of the Roosevelt and Altcrra Seminaries will be held Sunday, May 2,'at 8 p. m. in the Roosevelt ward L D S chapel. Seventy-eight students from the two seminaries will participate parti-cipate in the ceremonies. The theme will be "The Upward Reach." W. H. Church is principal of the Roosevelt seminary and Wendel Johnson, principal at Alterra. ' The Department of Employment Security . will continue its itinerant service to Roosevelt on Wednesday and Thursday of each week, C. D. Lambert, Manager of the Department's office at Vernal announced this week. The Roosevelt stake .MIA festival will be held May 11, at 8:15 p. m. in the Roosevelt stake hall, it was made known this week. Most of the wards will participate, and their choruses will sing in mass concert. Special practices have been set fo reach Monday and Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Jorgen Hyllested, baritone at the McKune school of music, will be the soloist. The U. S. Civil Service Commission is accepting applications at its Denver office for professional engineers in the chemical, mechanical and petroleum fields to carry on the synthetic fuels program in the U. S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Mines. Because of the diminishing natural oil resources, Congress rcccnt- f ly appropriated $30,000,000 to the Bureau of Mines for the pur- pose of implementing the oil shale program. Vacancies exist in the U. S.
