Show Duchesne Oolinty Group To Push Construction Of A Hew Highway A group from Duchesne county coun-ty left Thursday morning to discuss dis-cuss road plans with Governor Maw and the State Road Commission. Com-mission. The specific plan under consideration is a standard two-lane two-lane highway from Roosevelt to Bluebell, to Altamont, Boneta and Talmage, thence south to Duchesne a highway which would provide speedy transportation transpor-tation to and from the principal towns of Duchesne county. The undertaking is not of recent re-cent vintage. It has been under discussion by civic groups in both Roosevelt and Duchesne for several years, and now with the Roosevelt-Bluebell road improved im-proved to provide a starter, advocates ad-vocates of the "Grand Circle" decided de-cided early in the week that the time for action had arrived. What the prospects xf the road .becoming an actuality is a matter of conjecture, but its promoters will approach Governor Maw and the Road Commission with the idea that it will offer a ready outlet for the produce of upper country farms. The Highway 40 Association of Utah and Colorado has expressed ex-pressed itself as favoring the proposed pro-posed Roosevelt-Bluebell-Alta-mont-Boneta-Talmage - Duchesne road, believing that it offers an added incentive for a vigorous Highway 40 program. The pro-project pro-project is also supported by the Roosevelt and Duchesne Lions clubs, the Roosevelt Commercial club, the Roosters club, the Roosevelt Fish and Game, club and the Roosevelt Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce. |
