Show Letters To The Editor Soon our Indian Days celebration celebra-tion will be held, and as far as 1 the genera) public can see, nothing noth-ing much is being done. Now, we don't want to insinuate that nothing noth-ing really is being done, but we can't see any evidence. Are we going to have new grandstands, maybe with tops? Are we going to have a model Indian village? Are we going to have a dance floor on the hill? How about a good platform for the program and adequate space for parking. Is there any way to get rid of the unsightly weeds that grow in profusion? If these things are to be done, why hasn't the work started? if they cannot be done, why not? And how about queens? Are Centennial Queen Calleen Robinson Robin-son and her attendants going to be here? What are the rules for choosing our local queen? Since the reason for our celebration is to further understanding between the Indians and the Whites, why not a full-blooded Indian queen a young girl in her late teens dressed in a beautiful formal, and so as not to leave the traditional tradi-tional doeskin and beads out entirely, en-tirely, let's have two Indian girls as attendants, wear the prettiest costumes available. And now, how about publicity? Is there any way to get photographers photogra-phers here from leading magazines, maga-zines, or perhaps, even a movie camera? Publicity can do much to further our tourist trade and make our celebration famous, and we must remeniber that nothing noth-ing worth having is acquired Without work and long planning by the entire community. The answers to these questions will be gratefully appreciated. We have only a few short weeks to get so much done. An Interested Citizen |
