Show Crow Bait Aluminum owls such as the above illustration, have been developed by two city officials of-ficials in Decatur, 111., and used successfully in combatting crows and the starling nuisance. The owls, which are equipped with faces on both front and back, are used to drive away the starlings and strangely, to attract crows. The metal "wise" birds were designed de-signed to drive away about a million mil-lion starlings which had practi- cally taken over the city of Decatur, Deca-tur, 111., this year, and they have subsequently been used successfully success-fully by hunters as decoys for crows. Crows are attracted in huge numbers as their chief sport is heckling solitary owls which they may spot in a tree. Hunters, lying in ambush, made huge killings of the marauders. |
