Show n ELSINORE MRS AL B ROSS KOSS correspondent 0 0 evening in 47 huge success the pioneer entertainment given wednesday evening of last week in the opera house by the ward M 1 I A and sunday school was a real success commencing at 8 a program included dramatizations of incidents from the lives of utah pioneers in their long march across the plains and culminating mina ting in an evening of merriment and dance depicting the pioneers after their arrival in the valley of the great salt lake special numbers included readings songs and dancing later everybody participated in the old time dances declaring it the best entertainment ever given over tickets were sold the committee in charge of the affair consisted of mrs mary alary ahlstrom chairman mrs violet jensen mrs verba harward madeline kotter hotter crystle gray portia sylvester and frank gunn seminary program under direction of V L israelson seminary teacher a program was given sunday night in the ward chapel by students of the seminary with dee dec sorensen in charge the program follows talk woodrow sylvester vocal duet duct juanetta nielson and stella marble reading grace robinson vocal solo barbara ross talk madge violin solo evelyn sylvester bishop leon T madsen gave short closing remarks stressing prohibition the opening prayer was by miss bliss ethel anderson and the benediction was by walter lafever MISS hiss madge daughter of mr and airs loren ahns was winner of the medal in an oration on george washington given friday at the south sevier high school after a three months stay with their children in los angeles mr and mrs C K christensen and their son burton arrived arnved home friday they were accompanied from st george by their daughter madge who will spend several days here mr and mrs frank shaw of fillmore spent the week here at the homes of mr bir and mrs thomas shaw and mr and mrs marion cropper miss pauline nielson entertained several friends at dinner friday mr and mrs rulon and mrs airs mae jensen and daughter betty spent the weekend with relatives at fairview mr and mrs amasa harward of aurora visited at the home of their son and daughter in law mr and mrs wm harward saturday mr and mrs ervin larson announce the arrival of a baby girl at their home auary 21 alfred johnson returned friday from several days visit with rela in salt lake complimentary to her sister mrs hannah hansen of mt ML emmons emmona mrs mary johnson entertained thirteen ladies at dinner tuesday owen hill left wednesday for provo where he will be employed by the telluride power company mrs airs hill and their two small sons expect to join him in a couple of weeks mrs tillie staples entertained a number of ladies at a quilting thursday afternoon mr and mrs chris anderson entertained at dinner saturday for mr and mrs C A hanson of mt ML emmons mr and mrs N CP P anderson andersen mr and mrs alfred johnson and mr and mrs J L staples mr and mrs H H bell of glenwood spent monday with relatives here the legion and auxiliary members enjoyed EL a social and dance saturday night in the opera house special entertainment was furnished by mr and mrs L A cropper and progressive hearts was played |
