Show h floats resolution ri 0 MUNICIPAL will give more details relative to application for R F C loan A resolution prepared by the legislative com committee tte e of the U utah state municipal league was read by mayor W L warner and adopted by the richfield city council in their regular meeting thursday night as follows whereas there at present exists an urgent necessity for a large reduction in municipal costs and whereas there is on an even greater necessity for alleviation of the unemployment situation in utah and whereas these matters have reached such a magnitude that it becomes necessary for the officials of all municipalities to use every effort to assist in the proper adjustment of such affairs and whereas where the utah legislature is now 1 in session and in a position to consider legislation tending toward the correcting of these conditions dit ions now therefore be it resolved section scenio I 1 that the city council of L EC richfield ecclefield utah hereby indorses endorses indor ses the he action of the legislative com kittee of the utah municipal league and requests that a a law governing the general sales tax for the state of utah be provided by the present legislature section 2 that the governor of utah be advised that we would recommend any constructive ideas or investigations into the costs of our municipal affairs which may be deemed right and proper section 3 that we pledge ourselves to make a conscientious effort to reduce our municipal expenditures tures excluding fixed charges to 65 per cent of the amount required for the year 1930 section 4 that a copy of this resolution be sent to the governor of the state of utah to the president of the utah state senate and to the speaker of the utah state house of representatives at the same meeting in which the resolution was passed mayor warner read a letter from the reconstruction finance corporation requesting additional adit ional information with reference to Rich fields application for a loan of and reported that the necessary information had been compiled and sent to the corporation the matter of final arrangements for bringing the black hawk encampment to richfield this year was discussed also and mayor warner wamer attended a convention for that purpose tuesday a report of which is given in another other column of this issue |
