| Show PROJECT or GUT MERIT IS TO y sevier valley poultry brooder is near realization the matter of the community community brooder sponsored by sevier county poultry growers in cooperation with the richfield lions club is now taking definite form in the last meeting of those interested in the community brooder bi coder it was decided to organize the sevier valley poultry brooders broaders Bro oders association under the agricultural cooperative act thus decreasing cost and assessment incident to incorporation at the same time a special committee consisting of J J S R boswell john JR adams and ferdinand erickson was appointed to solicit funds for the establishing of the brooder by selling stock of the association the sevier valley poultry brood ers association will be incorporated lor for divided into shares at a par value of 1 each at the present fi time 1 me shares at 1 a share will be for sale and the association is appealing to poultry producers business men and the public in general to buy some of the stock to assist the poultry growers thereby increasing the count countes coun tys ya wealth and general prosperity the sponsors sars of the association have carefully figured costs overhead depreciation cia tion interest on the capital invested a good sized percentage of un forseen losses and all incidentals and have found that they can produce eight week old pullets at about thirty six cents a piece the marret market value is sixty cents a piece the pullets will be sold to the poultry growers at fifty cents an all immediate saving of ten cents and out of the difference between thirty six and fifty cents the association will pay eight per cent annually on all stock issued and the remaining surplus will go back to the poultry growers as a patronage dividend A paragraph of a circular letter sent ent to the business men throughout the county reads in considering w ways ays and means of financing this local enterprise the committee encountered this difficulty to sell the stock to the poultry men necessitated guaranteeing to each one subscribing stock enough pullets to care for their respective needs since the initial capacity of this proposed broo brooder dei was fixed at pullets for the first year it became evident that this number would not care for needs of all poultry men since it is the purpose of this enterprise to aid in the expansion of this industry it was deemed advisable at this time to brood pullets and sell them at a minimum cost to those desiring io fo enter the business those equipped to brood their own pullets will be asked and encouraged to do so in in order border that more chickens can be placed in and about our community As heretofore stated the undersigned undersigner under signed after a painstaking analysis of this problem feel confident in their prediction that with more chickens will come greater buying power |
