| Show MEETING or NEV aind N E tile tuesday day A 1 trip aa ans qs illde over the road salana planned anneal with state roul road coln coin mission the voters having spoken and decided in favor of two new commissioners sio ners the two new men call tuft and H 13 tuft both of monroe I onroe were invited hy by the incumbents to partake in a joint meeting s so 10 they can call get acquainted with tile tho 1 problems rob facing the county this meeting was held last friday and among other things the preeminent pre eminent issue paving the noi coith th south highway through the county was thoroughly discussed the discussion was followed up tuesday by a trip over the road between Rich richfield held and salina where some changes in ill the present route are suggested by the engineers of the state road commission as well as those of the department of agriculture engineer J kerr err of the state road commission happened to be in richfield on other business tuesday was invited to join the inspection and complied compiled with tile the requester pla ining what changes will be requested and why the present commissioners mi aslon ners ers as well as the two elect chairman george peterson joseph F peterson and alma F frandsen seu with carl and H E tuft listened to tile the explanations of mr kerr as they traveled along and the next step will be to invite the state road commissioners to come to sevier county to talk things over with them if a conference here should be impossible old and new commissioners will go to salt lake city to hold the conference right there chairman peterson stated in n a an interview with tile the reaper th that at lie ho has the impression that the two new commissioners are in favor of going ahead with the construction work at as early a late date as possible and have the necessary surveys made without delay we were unable to reach the new commissioners over the phone to hear their opinion the present plans or of the commissioners in ili office are to have ten miles of pavement laid next season half of which are contemplated for the road south of richfield continuing the richfield pavement and the other half starting north of salina and going through salina south mr kerr stated that no doubt a larger stretch can call be paved next year than tile the three miles originally planned for this year but lie he doubts that the budget of tile the state road commission s will permit the paying paving of fully ten miles next year |
