Show Be Careful In Selecting A Governor The voters of Utah should pay careful attention to the matter of selecting a governor at tlhe polls on November Nov-ember 8. The action of the electorate on Election day is likened to the annual stockholders meeting of a business institution. The stockholders vote for directors who are charged with the management of the institution. The voters select managers for the various offices of government govern-ment and one of the most important is that of governor. The candidates are V. W. Seegmiller on the Republi can ticket and Henry H. Blood on the Democratic ticket. Both are men of good character, hence personalities need not enter into the consideration of a man. The experience ex-perience and record of each in public life as well as the peculiar fitness of each for the office of governor, should be considered. Mr. Seegmiller lived for years in southern Utan." His hGme district sent him to the state legislature. He made no particular record as a legislator. He and his supporters support-ers now claim credit for legislation which, the legislative journals show, he did not sponsor. After removing to Salt Lake, some years ago, Mr. Seegmiller became engaged en-gaged in selling stock of a coal mining company a promotion scheme which venture failed. Mr Blood, the Democratic candidate, (has lived in Kaysville, Davis county, most of his life. By profession he is a farmer and business man. He has been successful in every venture of his active career. Mr. Blood knows every section of Utah. His knowledge, his high character, charac-ter, his unusual capacity for friendly and helpful cooperation, co-operation, his fine achievements in varied fields, and his exceptional executive ability demonstrated in years of efficient and successful administration of matters of large responsibility, both public and private, qualify Mr. Blood to an unusual extent for the high office of chief executive. By a comparison of the records and ability of the two candidates it would seem that the preponderance of evidence evi-dence is overwhelmingly in favor of Mr. Blood and his election on November 8 would be for the best interests of all of the people of that state, (Paid Political Advertisement.) |
