Show Report Made of Condition of State Roads Following is the report made by the Utah State tioati Commkion on the condition of state roads on November 14th, 19oO, stating the condition on U. E. numbered system and State numbered laterals and connections. Light snowfall Friday beneficial to earth and gravel roads which are In general worn and dusty rrom continued dry weather. (This Information was given out just as the snow storm was coming com-ing toward Utah) U. S. 30-S. Wyoming line (Evan-ston (Evan-ston via Ogden and Tremonton to Idaho line .Strevell) 176 miles. State line to Emory 20 miles, gravel gra-vel and 11 miles oiled gravel to Echo, good condition, Echo to Hen-efer Hen-efer 5 miles gravei, good. Thence graveling to Devils Slide with optional op-tional detour in good condition via Croyden; thence oiled gravel 5 miles to Morgan. Morgan to Ogaen 24 miles oiled or paved. Ogden to Brlgham paved 22 miles, thence to Tremonton paved or oiled 20 miles. Thence gravel, good, 23 miles; thence construction 13 miles to Snowville of which first five mila. is earth road, good except when wet, remainder new gravei good; thence gravel 25 miles to Idaho line in good condition. Laterals: li-3. State line north of Evan-ston, Evan-ston, Wyoming via Randolph to Bear Lake and Idaho line, 57 miles, all gravel surfaces. State line to Woodruff 10 miles; to Lalcetown 32 miles; Laketown to Idaho line 15 miles, all in good condition, except construction 3 miles in Laketown Canyon, passable and traffic subject to delay. From junction at Sage east to Wyoming line, gravel, good. U-41. Tremonton via Garland to Idaho line, 22 miles, paved to Garland Gar-land 2 miles; thence oil 1 mil and gravel 19 miles to line, fair, worn and dusty. U. S. 40. Colorado line via Vernal and Salt Lake to Nevada line at Wendover, 344 miles. State line to Vernal earth road 36 miles, good, thence gravel to Fruitland 88 miles, good, roads getting dry and dusty in Uintah basin; Fruitland to Heb-er Heb-er gravel 32 miles and graded 16 miles, good condition except' 7 miles construction anu yough in lower Daniel's Canyon. Thence oiled gravel 18 miles to Park City; thence 10 miles oiled gravel to summit. sum-mit. Thence construction 3 miles, fair; thence gravel 1 mile and oiled gravel or pavement 13 miles to Salt Lake City. " Salt Lake to Mills Junction 27 miles; thence gravel with some oiled sections 61 miles to Knolls, fair; thence gravel, fair, 41 miles to Wendover. Lateral U-41. Vernal to Manila, 66 miles unimproved mountain road sharp curves and steep grades, condition con-dition good. U. S. 530. Echo Junction on U. 8. 30-S to Kimball's Jet., on U. S. 40, 25 miles Oiled to Wanship 13 miles, good; thence gravel to Kimball's, Kim-ball's, good Laterals. U 35 ana 34. Wanship to Kamas and Keetley Junction, 23 miles. Earth road between Wanship Wan-ship and Peoa, earth and gravel Peoa to Kamas Junction, thence earth to Keetley 10 miles, fair condition. con-dition. U-35. Kamas-Stockmore to Tabi-ona, Tabi-ona, graded earth mountain road, 45 miles, fair condition. U. S. 50. Colorado line (Grand Junction via Green River and Price to Spanish Fork) 225 miles. Earth with some gravel sections 84 miles to Green River, fair to good condition, con-dition, becoming dry and dusty. Earth 31 miles and gravel 36 miles to Price, good condition. Price to Castle Gate paved 11 miles; thence through Price Canyon 9 miles gravel, grav-el, good; thence 14 miles earth and gravel, good; to Soldier Summit, thence 40 miles earth and gravel to Spanish Fork, good condition. Laterals. U-53. Soldier Creek June lion to Myton 70 miles, unimproved, lair. U-33. Castle Gate to, Duchesne, 6 miles. Gravel 9 miles, graded 37 miles mountain road. Condition good. U-10. Price-Salina, 110 miles, oiled gravel 9 miles; thence gravel 48 miles to Emery, good condition. Thence partly improved to Salina with construction in Salina Canyon, Can-yon, 15 miles east of Salina, generally gen-erally good condition. U. S. 450. Valley City via Moab and Monticello to Colorado line, 106 miles; gravel 10 miles and graded 18 miles to Moab, good; graded 25 miles to uaSal Junction, lair, slow at washout 2 miles south of Moab; thence gravel 5 miles, graded 21 miles, and gravel 7 miles, t,ood to Monticello. Monticello to t'olorado line 22 miles unimproved. These roads worn and dusty account ac-count continued dry weather. Laterals. U-46. LaSal Junction to Colorado line, 23 miles; unimproved unim-proved mountain road, good condition. condi-tion. U-47. Monticello via Bluff to Mexican Mex-ican Hat, 79 miles. Monticello to Bluff, unimproved, good to Bland-ing, Bland-ing, thence fair to Bluff; Bluff to Mexican Hat, unimproved, steep grades and sand, fair condition. U. S. 89. Thistle via Fairview, Manti and Richfield to Arizona line 263 miles. Earth over Summit to Fairview 30 miles, good; thence gravel 5 miles to Mt. Pleasant, oil-td oil-td gravel and pavement to Spring City 5 miles, gravel 6 miles to Pigeon Pig-eon Hollow Jet., good condition; tnence to Manti paved 12 miles; thence earth and gravel to Gunnison Gunni-son 14 miles, good; thence oiled gravel or paved 14 miles to Salina; thence graveled or paved to ELsinore 2.'i miles, loose gravel between El-sinore El-sinore and Sevier 10 nines; thence chiefly qrnvel to Panguitch G2 miles, 40od; Riaded 25 miles, and gravel 15 miles to Glendale, good; thence ?arth and gravel to Arizona line 30 milfs, good. Idaho line via Logan, Salt Lake and St. George to Arizona Ari-zona line, 454 miles. Paved to Wellsviile 29 miles, oiled gravel 15 miles to Brigham, paved to Nepiil 150 miles. Oiled gravel to Levan 10 milts; thence oiled gravel 12 miles and gravel 29 miles to Holden, good; thence to Meadow oiled gravtl 18 miles; thence to Cedar City 106 miles, gravel or oiled, good; Cedar City to Anderson's Jet. oiled gravel 33 miles: thence gravel 21 miles to St. George, good; thence gravel 3 J miles to Arizona line, good to Summit, Sum-mit, thence fair 9 miles to line. Connections between U. S. Route 79 and IT. S. 01: U. S. 189. Nephi to Pigeon Hollow Junction 31 miles, gravel or oiled, good condition, except construction slow, in Salt Creek Canyon east of Nephi. U-28. Levan to Gunnison 31 miles. Gravel and graded earth, fair, worn and dusly. U-13. Cove Fort-Sevier, 20 miles. Some gravel surface, remainder improved im-proved earth, good. U-20. Paragonah- Orton. Unimproved Unim-proved mountain . road, 30 miles, fair. U-14. Cedar City via Cedar Breaks and Navajo Lake to Gravel Springs Jet. 45 miles. Gravel surface, sur-face, steep grades Cedar City to Cedar Breaks, condition good. U-15. Anderson's via Zion Park to Mt. Carmel Jet. 54 miles. Oiled to Toa.uerville and gravel between Toquerville and Virgin, good; thence earth and gravel to Rockville and Zion Park, good. In Park 9 miles oiled gravel and pavement, thence from east boundary of Park, l:j miles gravel general condition, good. U-59 and U-1G. Hurricane and Rockville to Arizona line, fair unimproved un-improved roads. |
