Show Funeral Held For Mrs. Nicolena Rolfson Impressive funeral services were held at the South ward chapel Monday at 2 p. m. for Mrs. Nicolena Nic-olena Rolfson Jensen, lifelong pioneer resident of this city, who died Saturday at the home of her daugnter, Mrs. R. W. Weech in Salt Lake City at 7 a. m. Saturday. Sat-urday. Bishop A. L. Peterson was in charge. The music was by the choir and Mrs. Ina L. Jones rendered ren-dered a vocal solo, "My Faith in Thee." William Olson and C. W. Sorenson offered the prayers, i President Daniel Rasmussen. H. G. Ericksen, Seymour Jensen and Bishop Peterson were the speak-ei speak-ei s. Christian Johansen dedicated the grave. Mrs. Jensen, daughter of Jacob and Margaret Rolfson, was born at Reiser, Norway in 1852. j At the age of nine she came to Utah with her parents. She walked walk-ed the entire distance across the plains. They located at Ephraim where they lived for one year and then came to Mt. Pleasant, just two years after its settlement. She was an active church worker having served as president of the M. I A. in this city, as a relief sj cicty counselor in Murray, where she lived for some years after ner marriage to Niels Jensen. Her husband died thirty years; ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs Weech of Salt Lake City; also al-so four grandchildren; one brother I Jacob Rolfson of St. Anthony, Idaho, and a sister, Mrs. Sophia j I Frandsen of Price. j I She hsd lived the past eight, j years in Salt Lake City. |
