Funerai services for Andrew Morgan were held Wednesday, July 13, at 2 o'clock in the ward chapel. The prayers were offered by J. C. Jensen and President J. R. Christiansen. The choir sang "Hope Beyond," "Besting Now From Care and Sorrow" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer." The speakers were James P. Robertson, Mrs. Martha Edler and Niels E. Mikkelsen. Vocal numbers were rendered by Randall Christiansen, Chris-tiansen, who sang "My Faith in Thee," "In the Garden of Tomorrow" Tomor-row" by Hilda Christiansen and a vocal duet, "Lay My Head Beneath Be-neath the Rose," by Lena Johnson John-son and Jenna Anderson. A large number of people attended the funeral and the floral offerings were profuse. Mrs. Lizzie Forness of Honolulu arrived here last Thursday to spend part of the summer with relatives and friends. The members of the Elife club and their husbands took their Lunches and spent Sunday evening at the Fountain Green Big Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holman and daughter of Ely, Nevada are visiting vis-iting here for a few weeks vacation. vaca-tion. Mr. Holman has been in ill health. The Gloom Busters club was entertained last week at the home of Mrs. Abe Livingston. The afternoon af-ternoon was spent in a social chat and delicious refreshments were served. The Social Hour club met at the home of Libbie Hansen last week for their monthly meeting. The program included: group singing, "My Country "Tis of Thee"; reading, read-ing, "When Pa Counts," by Sina Jacobson; current events, Matilda Hansen; reading, Lena Livingston. Plans were made for a trip to the springs in honor of the following outgoing officers: Caroline Larsen, Lena Livingston and Thora Robertson. Rob-ertson. The new elected officers are: Libbie Hansen, Clara Christensen and Maggie Frandsen. Special guests included Mrs. Richenbach and daughter, and Fern and Mary Barentson. Their menu was: First course, deep sea treat; second course, aska with giggle gravy-coated gravy-coated tongue; third course, lemon mouse and strawberry glazo and mum with ambrosia. The following Sunday the mem-onH mem-onH their nartners went up to the Big Springs where they had their lunch. The Misses Dora and Lilhs Cook of Logan are visiting with friends here this week. The choir gave a party Thursday night honoring Urban S. Madsen, who has resigned from being the chorister. After song practice ice cream and cookies were served. The choir is now reorganized with Lillian E. Coombs as chorister Lyda Guymon as organist, and Emma Seely as secretary and A crowd of girls enjoyed a chicken chick-en dinner at the home of Bessie Peterson Tuesday evening. The guests included: Erma Posquist, Ethel Peterson, Arvilla and Relia Mikkelsen, Barbara Jensen, Lizetta. Seelv of Mt. Pleasant, Evelyn Aug-asoW, Aug-asoW, Lucille and Evanelle Anderson. Ander-son. Games were played.. Relatives of Claude Livingston went to the Payson Hospital where he was operated on for goitre Monday morning. He is repented to be doing as well as possible Mrs. William Lund and two children of Salt Lake spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mis. Niels Lund. - Mrs. Polly Shawcroft of LaJaia. Colorado is visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Allred. Leslie Llewellyn returned to Salt Lake this week after spending spend-ing a couple of days with Mrs. Laura Llewellyn. |
